Join the effort
Reality Foundation is a small team with a large research agenda. We need collaborators, advisors, and contributors from across academia, industry, law, and journalism. Here is how different people can plug in.
For researchers
Academic collaboration
We are actively seeking co-researchers and advisors across computer vision, cryptography, media law, and forensic science. We offer:
- Co-authorship on working papers and journal submissions
- Access to the Foundation's datasets and tooling
- Visiting researcher arrangements
- Scientific Committee membership for senior academics
For students
Thesis & internship
We work with MSc and PhD candidates whose dissertations touch on our research themes. We can provide:
- Supervision co-arrangements with your home institution
- Access to research data and literature resources
- Mentorship from Foundation researchers
- A channel to publish thesis-derived work as Foundation outputs
For policymakers
Policy engagement
We produce policy-facing outputs and welcome dialogue with regulators, legislators, and standards bodies. We can offer:
- Policy briefs on specific regulatory questions
- Expert input to consultations and working groups
- Evidence submissions to parliamentary inquiries
- Briefings for parliamentary and regulatory staff
For journalists
Press & media
We are available for expert comment, technical explanation, and background briefings on synthetic media, deepfakes, and digital provenance. We offer:
- On-record expert comment for articles and broadcasts
- Technical explainers for non-specialist audiences
- Fact-checking assistance on specific cases
- Regular press briefings as publications emerge
Industry & Institutional Partners
We work with organisations that can contribute data, funding, or domain expertise to the research programme — on terms that preserve our independence.
If your organisation handles digital media at scale — insurers, media publishers, legal firms, platform operators — you may have datasets or operational experience that would advance our research. In return, you gain early access to findings, acknowledgement in publications, and the ability to shape research questions.
We do not accept funding that conditions our findings. All partnership terms are published in our annual report. Independence is non-negotiable.
